Message from the GM
Firstly I would like to say thank you to everyone for being so welcoming to me at RBYC. The members and staff have made my first week so enjoyable and I am really looking forward to getting stuck in and becoming part of the RYBC family.
As you might have seen from my employment announcement my background is in Sports Administration and Event Management. I have lived in the UK, New Zealand and Australia and I am delighted to be back in my favourite city – Melbourne!
I am a real foodie – and the thought of what we can do in the Olympic Bar and Restaurant really excites me. The hospitality team are enthusiastic and full of ideas and so I ask you to “watch this space” – great things are coming!
Whilst the world of sailing might be new to me I have every confidence in our sailing team and our volunteers to deliver a program throughout the year the members of RBYC can be proud of. I am looking forward to learning all about sailing and even plan to be on the start boat tomorrow to see my first race.
RBYC is an exceptionally beautiful facility and in my short time here I can already see there are very passionate members at the Club who want nothing more than the club to succeed.
I don’t plan to hide away at my desk – if you see me please do say hello, I’ve met quite a few people already so you might just need to remind me of your name more than once at the beginning!
