Tackers is a program that aims to get more primary school age kids sailing at clubs around Australia.

Everything about Tackers is designed to help kids learn new skills and have fun through sport.  The boats used in Tackers programs are small and easy to handle, designed to sailed by children under 12. The focus is on safety, games and fun.

Tackers courses are delivered at three levels:

  • Tackers 1 – Having Fun
  • Tackers 2 – Tricks & Techniques
  • Tackers 3 – Sailing Fast!

Apart from the courses there is also Tackers Intro and Tackers Fleet.

Tackers Intro is a 2.5hr session covering the first session of a Tackers 1 course. It is perfect for kids who aren’t sure whether or not sailing is for them. The Tackers Intro fee can be put towards the Tackers one course fee if they decide to continue with the course.

Tackers Fleet is a casual skills workshop for sailors who have completed Tackers 1 or above who would like to work on their skills. It is also a great option for busy families who cannot commit to a full course or for sailors keen to sail more than once a week.
