Women's Sailing - Over the long weekend RMYS held the Australian Women's Keelboat Regatta again which included 3 boats from RBYC - Ingenue, Adams Rib and Allegresse carrying a total 25 female sailors. Click here for a full report . Click here for results.
Musto Etchells Australian Winter Championship 2009 - Some of our boats from the RBYC Etchells fleet trailered their boats up to Moolooaba, QLD to compete in this very popular regatta. The regatta finished last Sunday 7th June 2009 leaving Damien King (SYC) the overall winner. The best performer from RBYC was Mark Bulka coming in 8th place in a fleet of 54. Alan Robinson Memorial Race to QCYC - Malcolm Mitchell skippered 'Caledonia' to victory last Saturday in a 13 boat fleet on a perfect Winter's morning which started at 0930hrs from the RBYC Race Tower . First across the finish line was 'Audacious' skippered by Greg Clinnick in 3hrs 55mins. Click here for full results. The race wasn't all perfect for some...opps!

Pursuits - Despite losing some pursuit yachts to the earlier race to Queenscliff, the pursuit feet consisted of 9 boats competing in the Costello Winter Pursuit Series race 4. Well done to Greville Gowty taking his boat 'Stratagemm' to victory for the second time this series. This series allows extras such as spinnakers to be flown with a 5% penalty added to their elapsed time. Next race is Saturday 20th June 2009. This Saturday will be a non-Aggregate. Hearnes Heroes - This Wednesday produced a winner for the performance handicap series (fleet starts) - Ted Mansur onboard his boat B58 'Y Knot' . For full results, click here. Next Wednesday 17th June 2009 is the final of the Pursuit Series which will be a tight tussle between Under Capricorn and Clipper III for series winner.

The internationally owned satellites that monitored the 121.5 MHz distress beacons have now been switched off and unwanted beacons can now be disposed of at no cost by placing them in collection bins in any of the Battery World stores around Australia.
