RBYC Sabots dominant at Lidgett Cup last weekend!

The Lidgett Cup is regarded as a key event in the junior sailing calendar on Port Philip Bay with over 140 Sabots, Minnows and Optimists competing in Senior, Intermediate and Novice levels at Davies Bay Yacht Club last weekend.

The success and progress of RBYC junior sail training program was clearly demonstrated in each division with our sailors posting the following results:-

 ·         Senior Sabot:                  2nd  Mitch Fisher, 3rd   Tom Fisher ( RBYC  took 4 of the top 5 positions)

·         Intermediate Sabot:        1st  George Walch, 2nd  Kierin East, 3rd  Joshua Brooks-Duncan

·         Novice Sabot:                 1st   Kate Dunoon, B Division and 5th overall for novice division – well done!!!

 A team of 10 positive and motivated Sabot Sailors are looking forward to contesting the State Titles at Sorrento next weekend.

21st February 2009 Start time for the first race for both classes is now 1355hrs from RBYC Tower.

Audi Etchells Worlds will be a clash of the titans
After claiming the Etchells Nationals title in January, John Bertrand and his Olympic crew of Ben Ainslie and Andrew Palfrey will start as one of the favourites when the 2009 Audi Etchells Worlds comes to Melbourne, Victoria, next month.
