WISC Racing 7.12.2008
Another successful day of WISC series racing was held on Sunday at RBYC.
Race 4 started in a brisk westerly and many boats opted for poled-out headsails on the downwind leg instead of flying spinnakers. The Sandringham girls featured strongly in the results across all divisions, but Merella Curtis and the "Boots " crew were placed second in IRC and Rosi Colahan and the "Ingenue" crew were placed third in PHS.
Harry Tedstone and his racing team aboard Tarni and RB9 rose to the challenge of a wind shift and altered the course for Race 5. The fleet took off in a dying southerly and the short Port Phillip chop tested all skippers, especially those of the "not so lightweight" yachts. Jan Bedlington and her crew aboard "Under Capricorn "was the best of the RBYC boats with a 2nd placing in IRC and a 3rd placing in PHS.
Series results to date in PHS place Ingenue 2nd and Folie a Deux 3rd –"Go girls!"
All results can be viewed on the SYC website or by clicking here.
The Womens’ Sailing Christmas BBQ was a pleasant way to end the day, have a debrief and some Christmas cheer. It was great to have the Sandringham girls join us.
Wishing you safe sailing over the Festive season, and looking forward to seeing you on 8th February 2009 when WISC resumes with racing at SYC.
