Commodore John Spencer Welcomes you to Royal Brighton
As the 70th Commodore of Royal Brighton Yacht Club, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our website. Whether you are a fellow member, a potential new member or simply a curious explorer of the internet, this site will allow you to find the answers to questions you may have. If you cannot find those answers, please do not hesitate to call the club on 9592 3092 and talk to a real person. Alternatively send an e-mail to reception@rbyc.org.au, where it will be answered, also by a real person.

Our Club is traditionally part of the local community, but has grown over the years and expanded its reach. Our aim is to promote and encourage the sport of yachting in general and yacht racing in particular. In addition to this, the Club offers a wide range of benefits to its Members including a gym (with Personal Trainer, and some of the best catering in Bayside.

While our focus is on the various aspects of keel-boat racing to cruising, we also cater for off-the-beach sailing and power boat owners.

Social memberships are available to those who are just looking to join in a friendly club atmosphere located in Brighton.

Racing - the best on the bay.
Royal Brighton has always been known for its racing and the quality and professionalism of its race management team, led by our Principal Race Officer, Mr Harry Tedstone. Royal Brighton prides itself on the quality of the racing it provides. Between Harry, his staff and volunteers, we can assure you that on-water standards are of the highest order.

The Club races on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, with Wednesday twilight racing a major feature in the summer. Our  active classes include keel-boats in Divisions I, II and III. Our one-design classes are Etchells, Dragons, Jubilees, Flying 15s, while our Junior Sailors are trained in Sabots, 12 Ft Cadets and 29ers.

With good fleet numbers and a wide range of expertise levels, our sailing program offers something for everyone.
I look forward to seeing you down here, either sailing or enjoying the view over the bay and the company of friends.

John Spencer
