Sarah Phillips, Friday, 14 November 2008

We invite you to participate in the series for the Ingenue Cruiser PHD Trophy 2008 – 2009.

The trophy was established in 2007 by RBYC members, David James and Rosie Colahan, owners of Sun Odyssey 40 "Ingenue", with the aim of encouraging owners of cruiser racer yachts to participate in longer course races under PHD handicaps, in parallel with existing RBYC events for boats with IRC and / or AMS ratings.

It is open to all club yachts who are not competing in IRC or AMS but wish to participate in the longer races around the bay under Performance Handicap criteria.

Last season was the inaugural competition for the trophy and saw fifteen yachts participate, with Roger Incledon steering "Rampallion" to victory with scores of 2-2-1.

This season’s races are scheduled to be run as follows:

  • Heat 1 - Sat 22/11/2008: Tower Start 1100hrs

in conjunction with YORK SYME TROPHY

  • Heat 2 - Sat 29/11/2008: Tower Start 1030hrs

in conjunction with BUSHY BEAVIS TROPHY

  •  Heat 3 - Sat 13/12/2008: Tower Start 1030hrs
