BLiSS 2017: Training Day 2 this Sunday!
This Sunday the 23rd of April we will have the final training day for the BLiSS ladies ahead of the regatta the following weekend.
The classroom theory starts at RBYC at 9.00am then leads into the on-water training at about 10.30am. Training concludes between 12.30am and 1.00pm.
Whether to get you ‘regatta ready’ or just to provide you with some new skills and knowledge, the BLiSS pre-race training this year has been broked into two separate programs (beginners and advanced) so you can choose the program that best suits your level of sailing skill and knowledge.
The training sessions are being provided by our sponsor, AMS Yacht Racing so there is no cost to you or your invited friends.
The advanced training will be run by Gavin Dagley, highly experienced coach and Laser Grand Master World Champion for 2016. Day 2 of the training will focus on how to get the most out of sailing downwind.
The beginners’ training, which we recommend for those who have never been sailing or those who have been on a sailing boat only a few times, is based on some of the RBYC Discover Sailing curriculum. This training is designed to provide you with some sailing terminology, some basic sailing skills and some safety tips to make your early sailing experiences enjoyable and fun. When registering to attend this training, simply select ‘beginner’, and you will be assigned to a boat for the on-water training. Acting Sailing Manager & professional Coach Craig Cobbin will run the beginners training this Sunday.
Training places may be limited, so please Register Here Now.
